I know the ones with oneandone are good but the package deal is cheaper (and better) with justhost. But im not a websitedesigner and i use the templates and customise them a lot.
Does anyone know if the packages on there include a decent site builder

Is this ‘web hosing’ website too good to be true?

The site is http://www.justhost.com/. It soulds like a very good deal, to my untrained eyes atleast, and am thinking that it could be a scam.

Possibly. I searched for them on the BBB website, and I couldn’t find them (they have the BBB icon on their website). If you want web hosting, I’d give http://www.surpasshosting.com a look. I’ve used them for around four years. Good stuff.

What is the file extension to the windows host file?

It doesn’t have an extension. For historical reasons, it’s just named “hosts”. It’s a simple text file–you can open it with Notepad or any other text editor.

Has anyone had any dealings with a data entry company called Blythesdale International?

I have checked them out on Companies House and the Better Business Bureau and they don’t feature on either. There’s nothing on complaints.com
I’ve e-mailed them to ask them why they aren’t listed but no reply as yet.

How do I fix this problem uploading package file in Joomla?

Hi. I’m new to usign Joomla. I’m currently using it via justhost.com. I’m trying to upload a new template package file which I just downloaded. The download is seamless and the file is in tact. However, when I try to upload it in Joomla (via Install Extensions), the file doesn’t seem to be uploaded and installed. I click “Upload and Install” button and it just sits there, the status bar saying “connectign to xxxx.xxxxxxx.com…” (I censored the actual address for privacy). After waiting for it to connect, it just seems to refresh the page, without telling me anything. Apprently, my new template was not uploaded/installed. How do I fix this?
My bad, it doesn’t say “connecting to xxxx.xxxxxxx.com…”, it says “Sending request to xxxx.xxxxxxx.com”. And on the warnings tab, it says “The PHP temporary directory is not set,” however, when I check on it, it is actually set. Any help? Please?

check the zip file of template. you must see the folders like administrator – images – templates or …
If you see another folder inside the zip file and then inside that folder you see the smiler folders you must unzip the folder first and then zip it again correctly.
so many free templates try to have a footer and link it to template owner site.

It’s possible, but it’s a big trouble for you. Because you must upload your friends’ web pages and update them whenever it’s necesssary, or give your friend your username and password on lonarpges!
The best way is referring your friend to a reliable web hosting service like: http://bluehost-service.atspace.com . I’m sure it would work for him and fulfill all his requirements. I am very familiar with hosting agencies and ask that agencies or any area coordinator, area representative, or local coordinator will not reply to this question. I am asking this question from the point of view of a potential host family, host parent, host sister, or host brother with no hosting experience.
I would like to open this to former host families.

The most important question I usually want to know of the students we host is “Why are you doing the exchange?” Other important questions (in no particular order):
- What (specific or general terms) do you expect of us, as host parents? For example, do you expect that we will take trips to (insert names of tourist spots near to where we live) at least once a month while you are here? Do you expect that we will be strict? Do you expect us to have the same level of trust in you that your parents have? Do you expect us to help you with your homework for one hour every night? Etc.
- What personal adjustments do you expect to make and how can we help to make those happen?
- What’s your favorite kind of food? What foods do you absolutely hate?
- What do you do in a typical day? How about on weekends?
- What is your family like (mother, father, siblings, personalities, habits, etc.)?
- What kind of ‘living situations’ have you lived in? For example, living in a small apartment in a big city where you walk to school (less than 15min away) and the mall (less than 15min away), living on a farm in the country where you take a bus for 30+min to school and your grandparents live with you as well, etc.
- Have you ever been away from your family for a significant amount of time (eg. visiting a friend who has moved away for a month)?
- What are you hobbies?
- What is your favorite family tradition?
- Can you trust us to do what’s in the best interest of you?
- Can you ask for help when faced with difficulties?
- How do you show ‘good’ and ‘bad’ emotions?
The list is endless, but the reasons for doing the exchange are the most important thing – if you’re heart isn’t into the experience, nothing else matters.
