How many years ahead do they determine the next city to host the olympics?

Just curisoty came to me. Not really sure if it made sence, so um, I was just wondering how many years in advance they annouce the next place to host either olympics.

They give out the bid for an Olympics 7 years in advance. Rio was awarded the 2016 summer games back near the end of 2009.

    Quite a few, I think they plan it out 1 or 2 olympics ahead of time so at least 4-8 years, the cities have to have plenty of time to prepare
